18kW Solar PV System for a Nursery

Hayo Energy was recommended to the owner of a nursery in Stoke-on-Trent. We established at survey that there was scope for an 18kW system generating around 14,700 kWh of electricity per year.

After the customer ordered, we provided a courtesy upgrade for the customer from 18kW to 18.7kW, and after seeking approval from National Grid we installed the system shown in the images. Due to the advanced age of the roof on this building, around 200 tiles broke on contact during the installation, which we replaced, again as courtesy service to this customer.

For this particular system we used 44x Trina Vertex S 425W panels and a Rayleigh Three Phase Inverter, which can be seen at the bottom of the ‘after’ photo of the service cupboard. The yellow box is the AC isolator, and above this is the generation meter.
