Landlord EPC Upgrade

Stoke-on-Trent

Our Solar Director was referred to a landlord who wanted to improve a terraced house in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent from an EPC score of E to a C.

The two main options to achieve this were internal wall insulation, which required extensive redecoration, or a Solar PV system, which was both lower in cost and less disruptive than the insulation option.

A survey established that the narrow roof could accommodate 5 panels, which resulted in a 1.9 kW system which was just enough to achieve the desired ‘C’ rating on the landlord’s EPC.

The installation went smoothly and the tenant benefits from free electricity. In general providing this benefit to tenants allows landlords to charge higher rents at the next renewal date.
